Welcome to Le Grand Berger Chambre d'Hotes, in tranquill Angeac Charente. A 19th Century Maison de Maitre that has been fully renovated to provide our guests with all modern amenities and comfort. We strive to provide our guests with a comfortable and relaxing stay in the heart of the French countryside.
OUR ROOMS
Our charming rooms are decorated with comfort in mind, Our double room offers 30m2 of space whilst our Double/Triple Room has also an ante room and offers 37m2 of space. Both rooms have ensuite facilites and are decorated with the style of a Maison Charentaise and provide guests with all modern amenities. Each room includes air conditioning, Fiber internet, in-room tea/coffee facilities, bath robes, and toiletries. Choose from our superior rooms. The double room which offers a light , summary relaxing decor with two large windows with a view of the garden and pool. Our Double/Triple room has a more dramatic decor and has a double aspect. On one side the windows offer a view of the pool and garden and on the front a view of the courtyard with it's trickling fountain.

Start your day off right with our delicious breakfast, served buffet style with a mix of continental and warm items prepared fresh on the day made from locally sourced ingredients.
Relax and unwind in our tranquil garden, the perfect place to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine. Scattered around the garden you find several seating areas to allow you to enjoy the nature around.
Take a dip in our refreshing pool, the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day, while relaxing in the different seating areas and sunloungers or having a snooze in the hammock under the trees. (Open seasonally between May and October)

Your rooms are checked daily to keep your room clean and tidy.
Dining in, why not. Our owner a chef with 30 years experience can provide you with a sublime 3 course meal (advance notice needed). Please contact us to discuss dietary requirments.

What a lovely reception by our two hosts. A warm welcome exactly how it should be. They even prepared us a last minute 3 course meal which was excellent and very tastefull. As we were just passing by on our way to Spain, it was a shame we couldn't stay longer. Hopefully we can come back someday.
